there are only a few things that i feel matter here, and this is opinionated
before i say anything else, lemme say why you should listen to me. I've trained more than 5,000+ professionals, students & professors on various topics from tech to selfhelp. Which has got me awards from IIITs IIMs and many orgs. I've worked with clients accross India, Singapore, Germany, US, Autralia. So i guess i know a little.
HERE ARE SOME RULES THAT HELPED:
find and more importantly don't let go any oppurtunity to speak on small stages (doesn't mean you yap everywhere, or speak stupid things, but don't let go oppurtunities)
RULE2: Speak good or remain silent (because a lot of time we do more harm than good, when we speak mindlessly or speak for the sake of speaking)
trust me the only reason you'll speak is one stage is because you've spoken on a previous stage, and that will make you further speak on all possible stages, so you need a starting point
personally i don't feel you should consume more movies for the sake that your english will improve (because the thing that will improves is your ability to understand/interpet english [as your brain is constantly trying to figure out what happening in the movie scene]),
but shift all the content you consume in english
[eg: if you like to watch cooking videos, start subscribing to people who making that content BUT in english]
More importantly surround yourself with people who share similar interest in learning language. [this is gonna impact you the most, as the env is stronger than will power.]
i suggest you make a daily habit to spend a small portion of time (min 15-30mins a day) to learn something about communication from yt [trust me you're going to learn more by being more consistent and showing up to everyday.]
i think this is pretty much it, don't overcomplicate things, make a decision on when you're starting to implement this
Set an alarm right now when you want to start or better start now.
